RULES and REGULATIONS
  1. All scheduled tournaments shall be administered by designated directors selected by the M.S.C.B.P.A. as its Tournament Director. The Tournament Director shall be the chief supervisor and representative of the M.S.C.B.P.A. for all sponsored tournaments.
  2. These tournaments are open to any bowler who has a current membership card in the M.S.C.B.P.A. and must be shown upon request of the Tournament Director. Costs of the membership card is $10.00 and shall be payable upon signing up for your initial tournament.
  3. The Tournament Director reserves the right to refuse any entry which does not abide by the rules and regulations stipulated by the M.S.C.B.P.A.
  4. All bowlers must name their house when buying their M.S.C.B.P.A. card. Bowlers must bowl at least one Adult League in that house. You must compete on a league and complete two-thirds of the season. All Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Mixed Teams and Teams will come from the same house for the tournament season.
  5. DRESS CODE - PROPER BOWLING ATTIRE: All participants must wear a bowling shirt with the house logo of their Center. It may be collared or a tee-shirt. All clothes must be neat, clean and presentable. No sweat pants, spandex or cutoffs. No hats, caps or visors. No tank tops or muscle shirts. Dress shorts will be permitted. Improper dress will automatically cause disqualification.
  6. All tournaments will be governed by the I.C.B.A. Rule Book. Foul line referees may be waived if automatic foul detecting devices are available and in working condition. Position of referee will be optional. Lob balls will be called
  7. PRORIETOR'S ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL BOWLERS CALLED IN. Cancellations can be made no later than Monday prior to the scheduled event. If a cancellation has not been made by that time, the bowler owns that spot and must pay the full amount of the entry fee if he/she does not show up. If the spot can be filled by the Tournament Director prior to the schedules event, the bowler will then be relived of the responsibility of paying for that spot. The Director shall maintain a Stand-By list.
  8. Each house will allow 10 minutes of free warm up before the tournament. It is mandatory that all bowlers arrive at the site one half hour before the tournament starts.
  9. Once a lane has been drawn by a bowler, there will be no changing of lanes. NOTE: Lane drawings will be held 1/2 hour before schedules flight time. If a bowler is not on hand for drawing, a lane will be assigned to late bowlers.
  10. LATE COMERS: Bowlers failing to show up before the Director fills in the open slots by moving bowlers around prior to starting must forfeit their entry fee unless an opening is available on a later flight. Late bowlers can not bowl once a ball has been rolled in that flight.
  11. Flight scheduling will be done on a "First Come-First Serve" basis.
  12. All prize money will be mailed out by the M.S.C.B.P.A. Treasurer to the winners upon verification of all scores.
  13. Handicaps shall be based on 90% of the difference of pins, up to 130 for men and women. Effective in the upcoming season all new bowlers handicap shall be based on the highest known league average. Computer Handicaps shall be used for all bowlers that have at least 15 strings in the previous season.
  14. No fees will be returned after entries have been received and the flights time assigned except in dire emergency such as fire, accident, ect.
  15. If a tie occurs for any reason, the tie will be broken by the highest single and prize money will be given to the person or team with the highest single.
  16. Prize money shall be distributed according to the amount of entries in each event. Prize schedules shall be posted at all tournament sites.
  17. Multiple participation in any one event is prohibited. You can only bowl ONCE in any tournament.
  18. Flights may be added or cancelled depending upon the number of entries at the direction of the Tournament Director.
  19. 30 tournament strings are needed to participate in the annual Average plus Handicap State Tournament.
  20. Participating bowlers on the current flights are the only ones allowed to keep score unless the Tournament Direct designates a person or persons as scorekeepers.
  21. SANDBAGGING: For computer information, any bowler scoring less than 80 pins of his/her average for a ten string or 40 pins for a 5 string tournament will be credited for that tournament with his/her computer average minus the above pins.
  22. A Junior bower who participates in any Junior events during the year will not be eligible to participate in Adult events in the same year. Any person that has reached their 17th birthday and has not participated in a Junior event during that current tournament season may enter all the M.S.C.B.P.A. Inc. sponsored event as long as they qualify according to all M.S.C.B.P.A. Inc rules and regulations.
  23. A new bowler entering a tournament for the first time must have at least 30 strings in a member house.
  24. SPORTSMANSHIP CONDUCT: Any participant attempting to damage any bowling equipment by his/her actions or using conduct that is disruptive to the proper administration of any event sponsored by the M.S.C.B.P.A. shall receive a warning on the first offense, and a zero shall be given for that frame. If a bowler commits a second offense of the above, he or she shall be pulled from the event and suspended, and a zero shall be given for that frame. A dummy score (average minus 10) shall be used on all Teams for the suspended bowler. Third offense will receive a written warning and inability to bowl the next stop. In any case where damage occurs by the result of the above to any equipment in host lanes, full restitution must be made for all damages. Bowlers failing to make restitution shall be suspended from bowling in any M.S.C.B.P.A. Inc. sponsored event until restitution is made.
